    急遽決定！！今月のドクタースケッチィは日本でもうすぐ発売のiPadによるライブスケッチを実演します！
    今回スケッチィがフィーチャーするアーティストはLA在住のストーリーボードアーティストのスティーブ ククル氏です！
    彼はクリエィティブ集団【310アーティスト】の正式メンバーの一人でもあり、彼の手掛けた作品はディズニー映画の『ビバリーヒルズ・チワワ』やSONYから近日公開予定の映画『スマーフス』などにも起用されています。他にも多方面のクライアントワークや広告関係までと幅広く活動しています。クライアントワーク以外の時間は、人物画や彼のプライベートワークのグラフィック小説や電車のスケッチなど常に積極的に製作活動に取り組んでいます。彼の作品は【310アーティスト】のサイトで閲覧できますので是非チェック！http://www.310artists.com/artist.php?artistid=33

    Intrigued by the possibilities of drawing on Apple’s new iPad? Maybe you saw stylish artist Steve Curcuru sketching away on his at our last event? Well this month, Steve will be hooking his iPad up to the Pink Cow projector to give a full demo of how it’s done! Not only that, but Steve will be giving each art-monkey a chance to touch and draw on the iPad themselves.

    Did we mention that this is all going down on Wednesday, May 26th, Two days before the iPad’s release-date? Don’t pass up your chance to try it out!

    Steve Curcuru is a concept and storyboard artist working in Los Angeles, California; and a member of the creative group 310Artists.
    In addition to movies like Disney’s Beverly Hills Chihuahua and Sony’s upcoming Smurfs, he draws for many directing clients and advertising agencies.  When he’s not drawing for others, Steve likes to draw from life, work on his own graphic novels, and sketch on trains.  More of his work can be seen at the 310Artists website.

  • Singing in the Ame

    April showers bring May… Candy!

    Don’t let the wet-whether get you down! The good Doctor is here to turn the Japanese Spring ame (雨）”rain” into delicious ame (飴) “candy!” And who better to spearhead the endeavor then Dr. Sketchy’s Tokyo’s own sweeter-than-sugar, Cherry Typhoon!

    Cherry Typhoon was originally known as VIVACE, and is one of the founders of the MURASAKI Babydolls (Best Troupe of Miss Exotic World 2006) . Since Tease-O-Rama 2007 Cherry has taken her act solo and spins up a perfects storm of subtle Japanese eroticism and an explosion of energy! In 2009, She was awarded the ‘Rosita Royse Award’ at the Montreal Burlesque Festival.

    Not only that, but this Dr. Sketchy’s will be the kick-off for Miss Typhoon’s “Cherry-Go Round WORLD TOUR!” That’s right, our own Cherry Typhoon will be bringing sketchy burlesque love to different events all over the world for the next few months, and you don’t want to miss your chance to see her off!

  • Dr. Sketchy’s Breathes Fire into the New Year!

    DragonAfter our holiday hiatus, Dr. Sketchy’s is back to jumpstart our 2010 season with our first male model in over a year!

    Argentenian performer, instructor and pole dancer Dragon has been wowing audiences around Tokyo for years with his over the top erotic dance routines.

    With a keen aesthetic eye and an won an honorary scholarship from athletic spirit to match, he has even integrated the art of traditional Japanese Iaido sword forms into a striking new style.

    Dragon is a professionally trained ballet dancer and has studied at Robert Joffrey, New York Conservatory of Ballet and has worked with Joffrey Ballet and companies in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Mexico, Venezuela, Canada, Singapore and Japan. He is a regular instructor of Pilates, Pole-Dancing and Iaido. Between his incredible acrobatics and unique fetish fashion, Dragon is even more fun to draw than he is to watch!

    ドラゴンはプロフェショナルバレーをロバートジョフレーやニューヨークのバレーコンサーバトリーで勉強し、ジョフレーバレーやドイツ、オーストリ ア、スイス、ミキシコ、ベネズエーラ、カナダ、ジンガポール、日本などのカンパニーとパフォーマンスを行う。現在はピラティー、ポールダンスや居合道の教 師として活躍。アルゼンチン人のパフォーマー、ダンス教師、ポールダンサーのドラゴンさんは何年も東京で最高なエロチックダンスパフォーマンスで聴衆に強 い印象を残しています。彼の美的なアスリートと日本の居合道を使ってのインパクトがある独自のスタイルは要スケッチです！

    Dr. Sketchy’s, Tokyo auditions scheduled for Tuesday December 15 have been canceled. We have decided to move in a different direction which is sure to rock your socks off. So hold on to your sketchpads it’s gonna be a wild ride.

  • Farewell Lady Elle

    November marks the end of an era for Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School, Tokyo as we bid a fond farewell to Lady Elle  as she embarks on a new adventure in the land down under early next year.

    We are looking for an energetic, super genki extrovert who knows how to work a crowd. Think Vegas lounge lizard. The bawdier the better. Drag Queens very welcome. Bilingual preferred but not required. Performers will be given a mock introduction to read from and are encouraged to ad-lib. No pay but travel fare and drink tickets included. A once a month 4 hour commitment. Dr. Sketchy’s is held on the fourth Wednesday of every month.
