Miss Sugarpuss is thrilled to be able to bring her special brand of seductive sweetness to the folks here in Nihon! Though this is her second visit to beautiful Tokyo, it will be her first Japanese Dr. Sketchy`s experience! A burlesque performer since 2004, Miss Sugarpuss has written, produced, directed and starred in oodles of burlesque plays and cabaret nights, both independently and with Team Burlesque, a collective network which she co-founded along with Seska Lee and L. Diablo, also from Montreal. Miss Sugarpuss now teaches burlesque classes and has several more projects on the go. She hopes to return to Tokyo often and is excited to meet you! Yatta!
By now you’ve been mesmerized by the hypnotic moves of Dr. Sketchy’s February starlet, Miss Qamarah. What you didn’t know is that this belly dancing ingenue came to us all the way from Ibaraki on a moment’s notice and pulled off a show that was so skilled, professional and above all Sketchtastic that she inspired one artist to give her their entire sketchpad as gratitude for such an amazing performance.
Here’s a little glimpse for all you Art Monkeys who missed the show.

For just under a year and a half Martine Cotton has been the Dr. Sketchy’s resident photographer, event coordinator and tireless PR person. She has been an invaluable part of the Dr. Sketchy’s Tokyo family and we are very sad that she is going back to her native Australia next week.
We are also VERY jealous, it’s 40 degrees with clear blue skies, stunning waves and exhibits the tropical serenity of a Gauguin in her picturesque new neighborhood.
BUT we wish her well and thank her from the very bottom for all her outstanding work. We truly hope to work with her again. The door is always open.

Mako is one of the most famous drag queens in all of Tokyo!
She has performed in numerous stage and dance hall productions the most recent being the ‘Resine’ Party in Amaranth Lounge and ‘EYE LUSH Party of Shu Uemura.
Mako began her career as an actor and moved to New York City to live the dream. While there she studied dance.
Mako’s transformation is now complete and this chameleon of the stage and dance hall will deliver a Sketchtastic performance WEDNESDAY JANUARY 28th at The Pink Cow in Shibuya.
Oh where to begin! It was AMAZING seeing all of you last Wednesday and actually talking to you sans the mic…I can’t tell you how personally delighted I was.
The air was absolutely electrified as we reunited and celebrated Hoop Champion and Sketchy dancer Deanne Tonking’s birthday.
Crayon Girl’s (aka Laura Hammer)arrival back from the Twin City State in just a knick of time. Toy’s charmingly seductive pin-up girl box paintings.
Josh McKible’s prodigal return to the fold and both of Martine’s Cotton’s amazingly successful farewell photo exhibitions going on in the city right now.
Next up for your Sketching pleasure, Dr. Sketchy’s is rolling out the royal carpet for QUEEN Mako…more details to come!
